James "Butch" Monroe Campbell, Jr., age 76, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., died November 19, 2017 at Glen Haven Health and Rehabilitation. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South with Bro. Jimmy Garner and Bro. Jon Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his sons, Jay Campbell and Joey Campbell; granddaughter, Kassidy Campbell; and parents, James and Ola Mae Campbell. Survivors include his wife, Alice Campbell; daughters, Diane Massey (Charles) and Noreen Forgrave (Kevin); son, Jeff Campbell; thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and special daughter-in-law, Kim Cooper. Butch, as he was known by all his friends, was a retired Lt. with the Tuscaloosa Fire Department and was a long-time lead promoter of the Fireman's Benefit Gospel Singing. He was also active in his Campbell Inc. Advertising Company. Butch was well-respected liked by all. Everyone liked his quick wit and outgoing personality. Pallbearers will be Scott Guy, Tim Robertson, Doug Hollyhand, Don Odum, Charles Ballard, Bill McDonald and Kevin Snead. Honorary pallbearers are Skyland Boulevard Baptist Church, Sherry Tubbs and Mary Dobbins. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Tuscaloosa Fire Department or Skyland Boulevard Baptist Church.
