James C. "Jimmy" Bailey AKRON - James "Jimmy" C. Bailey, age 75, of Akron, died July 30, 2016, at home. Graveside Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at Five Mile Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Elder Luke Laird officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Renay and Ista Hall Bailey; and brother, Robert "Bobby" Hall Bailey. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Sandra Kitchens Bailey; daughter, Lisa Bailey Bott and son-in-law, Dan Bott; son, Eric Bailey (Nicki); sister, Caroline Bailey Payne grandchildren, Kaleb, Jacob and Nick Bott, and Claire and Evelyn Bailey; a niece and several nephews; special family members, John and Carol Bassett of Houston, Texas; and one great aunt, Polly Tarence of Demopolis, Ala. Jimmy was born May 10, 1941 in Hale County where he lived all of his life. He worked in farming, cattle and raising catfish. He served as a U. S. Postal Rural Carrier for 20 years in Hale and Greene Counties. He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting and fishing. He held the state record for several years for typical white-tailed deer. He was a devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. His kind, generous and quiet spirit will be greatly missed by all he touched. His family members were members of Five Mile Primitive Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Bill and Patrick Payne, Phillip Cornett, Herman Cole, Jessie Henry and Gene Yeager. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Five Mile Primitive Baptist Church.
