Irene Stachon Bambarger NORTHPORT Irene Stachon Bambarger, age 98, of Northport, died Feb. 18, 2012, at Forest Manor Nursing Home. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Mesopotamia Cemetery in Eutaw with Rev. Ken Lee officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be today from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Bambarger; grandson, Mark Bambarger; one sister; and three brothers. Survivors include her sons, William L. Bambarger (Marylou) of Pensacola, Fla., James C. Bambarger (Greta) of Eutaw, and John T. Bambarger (Bettye) of Northport; sister, Ann S. Radwan of St. Cloud, Fla.; brothers, Joseph Stachon of Napa, Calif. and Alex Stachon of Phoenix, Arix.; grandchildren, Cynda Bambarger (Lance) of Redmond, Wash., Bridgett Monk (Derek) of Tuscaloosa, Leslie Abernathy (Ron) of Tuscaloosa, and Raynie Harlan (Dave) of Baton Rouge, La.; and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bambarger was born in Chicago, Ill. in 1913. After a long, successful career as a medical lab technician, she enjoyed her retirement years on the farm near Eutaw, Ala. She was a faithful and loyal member of Eutaw Baptist Church. Irene was known for her famous blueberry pies. Pallbearers will be Derek Monk, Ron Abernathy, Dave Harlan, Rocky Stone, Bobby Martin, and Johnny Trawick. Honorary pallbearers are Jay Walton, Lance McDonald, James Jernigan, Dian Jernigan, and members of Eutaw Baptist Church. Special thanks to Hospice of West Alabama, staff of LaRocca Nursing Home, and staff of Forest Manor Nursing Home Station #3.
