Ila Mae Smith NORTHPORT - Ila Mae Smith, age 82, of Northport, died August 1, 2016, at home. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by Larry D. Smith, Archie Ragland, Beulah Ragland and Leroy Ragland. Survivors include her daughter, Theresa Diane Johnson (Thomas); brothers, Bobby Joe Ragland (Rachel) and Eugene Ragland (Mary Ellen); and grandchildren, Ashlie Danielle Boothe and Trace Daniel Johnson. Mother was a hardworking woman who retired from Bryce Hospital after 30 years. She had one child Theresa Johnson and two grandchildren, Ashlie Boothe and Trace Johnson who were her whole world. She was often called Granny Dr. by Ashlie anytime she needed her. Trace became her knight in shining armor doing yard work for her when he got older. She loved them till the end still taking care of them to the end. Pallbearers will be Trace Johnson, Morgan Ragland, Chris Ragland, Bobby Lee Ragland, Rodney Cabiness and Jeff Cabiness. Honorary pallbearers are Kay Hinton and St. Marks UMC Sunday School class.
