Herbert Hoover "Slim" Woods
MOUNDVILLE } Herbert Hoover "Slim" Woods, one day shy of his "89th" birthday, passed away June 10, 2018, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Akron, Alabama. with preacher Arthur Thomas officiating. Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South is directing.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Irene Davis Woods and four brothers.

Survivors include his daughters, Alice Tucker (Don), Judy Rivers and Kecia Hardaway; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, his brother Gordon Woods (Betty) and sister Eunice Luna.

A special thanks to Judy Rivers, daughter and caregiver, for all the hard work, love and attention she provided dad and mom over the past several years. Thanks to Stacy Garcia, TSICU nurses, Dr. Shekar and Denise Nichols for their help during this trying time. Pallbearers will be friends at the cemetery.
