Hazel Hamner

Hazel McGuff Hamner, age 94 of Northport, AL. passed away peacefully at home on January 31, 2025. Services will be at Carroll's Creek Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Alan Roggli officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Magnolia Chapel North directing.

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Hamner; parents, Virgil McGuff and Jewel Cannon McGuff; sister, Dolores McGuff Watkins; sons, Audie Hamner and Ronnie Hamner; and grandson, Jonathan Hamilton.

Survivors include her daughters, Ann Collins of Northport, and Donna Davis (Norman) of Cottondale; her son, Danny Hamner of Atlanta; 13 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews whom she loved and enjoyed spending time with.

Hazel was a very talented seamstress and made many wedding and bridesmaid gowns as well as prom dresses for young ladies in Northport and surrounding counties. She was also known for her tailor-made suits, regular dresses, and blouses.

She was as a kind and humble individual who love unconditionally. Her spirit lives on in those who knew her. Hazel will always be loved, missed, and never forgotten.

Pallbearers will be Mark Keene, Trent Davis, Shane Hamner, Jared Davis, Randy McCool, and Jordan Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michelle McCool, Shane Hamner, Lyda Black, Malissa Davis, Randy McCool, Doris Bunn, Myra Modine, Mrs. Bea and Enhabit Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Carroll's Creek Baptist Church.
