Gwendolyn Young Woods | MOUNDVILLE Gwendolyn Young Woods, age 88, of Moundville, died April 5, 2011, at Druid City Hospital. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Moundville United Methodist Church with Pastor Reba Wiley officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lenna Lucas Young and James Robert Young; her brothers, James Robert Young, Jr. and Brooks Macajah Young; and her husband, Onice Woods. Survivors include her daughter, Gwendolyn Woods Crocker of Northport; her sons, James Onice Woods (Shirley) of Stewart and Marlin Woods of Moundville; her grandchildren, Paula Woods Irwin (David) of Metairie, La., Neil Woods (Lisa) of Stewart, and Greg Siavelis (Heather) of Tuscaloosa; her great-grandchildren, James and Justin Irwin, Meagan Woods Roakes (Matt), Christian and Lauren Woods, and Helen Siavelis. Gwendolyn worked many years at Vanity Fair Mills in Demopolis, as well as at Schweitzer's and Weisel's Boys Departments in Tuscaloosa. She was loved and cherished by all of her friends and family. Honorary pallbearers include Moundville Nursing Home. The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Isabel Oldshue and Dr. Larry Skelton.
