Gregory Marshall Smith (Red), born March 10, 1972, entered eternal rest on December 1, 2020. He was preceded in death by his mother, Janie Harbin Smith, his grandparents Clint and Katie Harbin. Survivors include his wife, Amanda, children, Katie, Clint, and Taylor, and a very special “uncle” John Gooden. He was a generous, kind, and loving country boy, father, husband, brother, cousin, nephew and is loved by many. He always put others first; never hesitated to go without if he knew of someone who needed something he may be able to provide. Whether it be the shirt off his back, the shoes off his feet, the hidden moonshine in his stash, or the last dollar in his wallet, if you needed anything then it was yours. Greg lived his life according to John 13:35, he believed that love for other is the defining sign of faith for everyone, marking the life of a true believer. John 13:35 “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciplines, if ye have love one to another.” He had a passion for getting children in the woods with a hunting rifle or fishing pole in their hands! You never had to ask Greg to take your kid hunting or fishing; once they went the first-time he expected them to be there every time. Family meant the world to Greg, and family didn't necessarily have to be blood-related. He never considered having friends because the friends he chose, he loved deeply, and they became family. Greg was a simple man that loved his wife, Amanda, and children, Katie, Clint, and Taylor, immensely. He will be missed by everyone that loved him dearly.
