TUSCALOOSA - Glennie Graham Strickland, age 92, went to her eternal home on Friday, September 28, 2018, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2018, at Skyland Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Strickland was born on February 11, 1926 in Elmore County, Alabama and has lived a full fruitful life.
She is survived by her husband, Aubrey Strickland, being blessed with 70 years of marriage.
She is survived by her two children, Phyllis Greene (Jeff) and Richard Strickland of Tuscaloosa; a grandson, Joel Hatfield (Brandi); two great-grandchildren, Harrison and Eva Caroline; and one sister, Katie Phillips of Oxford, Alabama; four nieces; one nephew; thirteen first cousins ;and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Eva Graham; parents-in-law, Luther and Genie Strickland; and six first cousins.
Glennie was a faithful member of Skyland Baptist Church for over fifty years including The King's Daughters Sunday School Class and Women's Missionary Union.
A celebration of her life will be at Skyland Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Joel Hatfield, Jeff Greene, Jerry Matthews, Randy Tunnell, Wayne Seale, Jim Singley and Harrison Hatfield.
The service will be officiated by the Reverends Jimmy Garner and Jon Wiggins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests either a gift to Skyland Baptist Church Building Fund or to your favorite charity.
