TUSCALOOSA - Giles Miller Duncan, Jr., age 74, of Tuscaloosa, died June 11, 2017, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South with Bro. Wayne Boman officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Skilling-Duncan and father, Giles Miller Duncan, Sr. Survivors include his wife, Carol Boman-Duncan; daughters, Mary Jo Duncan-Cummings (Scott), Katie Duncan-Smith (Ricky) and Anne Christine Duncan-Caruthers (Trent); son, Giles Miller Duncan III.; and grandchildren, Sarah Kate Tillman-Robertson (Jacob), Samantha Grace Cummings, Joseph Austin Cummings, Bailey Virginia Tillman, Kaylee Harper Smith and Hayden Glenn Smith. Giles was born and raised in Birmingham, Ala. He attended the University of Alabama where he majored in Education. He taught in Tuscaloosa City School System for 25+ years. He was also a member of the Alabama National Guard. Giles was an avid outdoorsman. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and loved the Lord. Honorary pallbearers are the medical and nursing staff of DCH Regional Medical Center of MICU and TSICU, the staff of Heritage Healthcare and Rehab, Mr. Bruce Leach, Mr. Norman Hibbard, brothers-in-law, Jim Boman (Susan) and Wayne Boman (Sandy), Mr. and Mrs. James Boman and special neighbors and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the American Red Cross or the Children"�s Ministry of Northgate Baptist Church.
