George Gibson

NORTHPORT - George P. "Pat" Gibson age 93, of Northport, Ala., passed away November 15, 2018 at Glen Haven Nursing Home. His graveside service will be 2 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018, at Memory Hill Gardens with Reverend Ronald Richardson and Reverend Bobby Pendley officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, George and Eliza Gibson.
He is survived by nephews, L.P. Mangum and William Mangum; niece, Louise King; great-niece, Ann Williams; a number of friends including: Arnold Tilley, Charlie Beck, Mike Caldwell, Keith Boswell, Gerlon Beck, Charles Brown, Michelle Steinbeck, Jim Robertson, Bobby Pendley, Paula De Angelo and special friend Kay Baumgardner.
Pat served honorably with the Marines in World War II. He was born in South Carolina, but spent his youth in North Carolina. He came to Tuscaloosa following his radio broadcaster career. He retired after working a number of years with the City of Tuscaloosa. Pat was a friend of all. He was a very generous person, giving away money to help others, even when he did not have it. Pat loved the Lord and loved His Word, evidenced by his worn out Bible. Pat will be missed by all those who knew him.
