Geddes Noble Boone NORTHPORT Geddes Noble Boone, age 70, of Northport, died Oct. 5, 2012, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Salem Baptist Church in the New Lexington community with Rev. Joseph Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Jessie Mai Noble, and her husband, Paul Wright Boone. Survivors include her son, William Paul Boone (Lisa) and her granddaughter, Emily Ann Boone, all of Dearborn, Mich. Geddes Noble Boone was born in McMinnville, Tennessee, where she lived until graduating from Warren County High School. She earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Middle Tennessee State University. After graduating, she moved to Huntsville, Alabama to work in the fledgling aerospace industry. There she met her husband of 47 years, Paul, and worked on a variety of projects in the space program including programming some of the computers for the massive Saturn V rockets that sent men to the moon. In 1979, she moved to Clearwater, Florida, where she continued to work on a number of civilian and military aerospace programs. After her retirement, she moved to Northport, Alabama to be closer to family. Her hobbies included reading, working on the computer, spoiling her Siamese cat, and cheering for Alabama football. Her greatest joy was her granddaughter Emily, born in 2011. Pallbearers will be Steve Gray, Allen Dalrymple, Dr. David Hinton, Daniel Hinton, Patrick Franklin, and B.E. "Skeet"� Boone.
