Gayle Cozart

Gayle Hein Cozart NORTHPORT - Gayle Hein Cozart, age 69, of Northport, died July 3, 2016, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2016, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Steve King officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be Thursday, July 14, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buster Cozart and parents, Ken and Fern Hein. Survivors include her sister, Jean Hein Robertson of Fall City, Wash.; brother, Fred B. Hein of Goldendale, Wash.; niece, Rhea Robertson; and great-nephew, Leo Augustine. After her husband, Buster Cozart, was MIA during the Vietnam War, Gayle built their dream home in Northport, Alabama and has resided there since. Gayle was actively involved in her Church, Lakewood Baptist. She was there every time the doors were open and volunteered in the Children's Ministry, VBS, treasurer for the GAP Sunday School class and was a member of the Choir. Gayle also volunteered her spare time working with the Peanut Butter and Jelly Children's Theatre Tuscaloosa and the Tuscaloosa Soup Kitchen. She loved being outdoors, gardening and feeding various wildlife behind her home. Her two favorite animals were her beloved cats - Prissy and Pumpkin. Gayle often sent letters, notes and birthday cards to encourage others. She loved to surprise people with homemade cookies, and loved to visit friends. Gayle was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed; however, we rejoice in knowing she is reunited with her beloved husband and many other family and friends that she often talked about. Pallbearers will be Dexter Beams, Kenny Beams, Gary Hahn, Greg Watkins and Marvin Blevins. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Gayle's memory to the Humane Society.
