In her own words she said "I have had a good life. The God of the mountains was my God in the valleys. That was a favorite song of hers and Rev. Taylor. Mrs. Flo lived a long life of service to God, her family, her neighbors, a large family of six sisters and four brothers and her beloved church family. She sang with numerous little quartets over the years. Her favorite song was The Lighthouse.
She was known for her green thumb and love of flowers. Her large roses graced the church on Sunday and then were carried to the cancer center or to a nearby nursing home on Monday.
Mrs. Flo was also known for her cooking, especially her coconut cake, German chocolate cake, Thanksgiving dressing, and golden catfish. She could have a table spread in no time. It was not work to her because it was something she loved, and cooking was how she showed love to others. Mrs. Flo was also a certified Bible teacher and taught the largest class in her church . Another activity she loved was cane fishing with her mother and her little plastic white boots at Lake Payne. Also, the trips up a steep little hill for huckleberries to come back home and make a huckleberry pie. Mrs. Taylor lived a life of prayer for all the needs around them.
