Eugene Fields MOUNDVILLE | Eugene "Curley" Fields, age 72, of Moundville, died May 2, 2014, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South with Rev. Bill Curtain officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Edna Snipes Fields; sisters, Cher Godbold and Judy Montz; and brother, Allen Fields. Survivors include his wife, Jean Copeland Fields; daughter, Tammy Fields of Hoover; sons, Troy Carroll (Julie) and Hunter Carroll (Monica), both of Birmingham; sister, Kathleen Watkins; brother, Bobby Fields; and grandchildren, Lilla, Adeline, Hunter and Olivia Carroll. Eugene was a member of Moundville Baptist Church. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army. His grandchildren were the joy of his life. Pallbearers will be George Tucker, Jason Tucker, Clint Tucker, Todd Fields, Ken Robertson and Troy Free. Honorary pallbearers are County Line Grocery Coffee Drinking Club and employees. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Gideons International and Hospice of West Alabama.
