Eslin Ammons
Celebration of a Life well lived

Eslin Ammons was born in Broadhurst, Georgia on September 6, 1930. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anna June McCluskey Ammons; son Craig (Kathy) Ammons; daughters Kimberly (Johnny) Gilliland and Bridget (Randy) Pratt. Mr. Ammons has five grandchildren, Matthew Craig Ammons, Paige Renee Ammons, Anna Marie Ammons, John Eslin Gilliland, and Adam Sean Gilliland.

Eslin served in the Army during Korean Conflict from 1953 - 1955. He attended Technical school and graduated as an electrician. He worked in a family logging business and in the cross country trucking industry. He loved an adventure and always wanted his family to be part of it. His interest were fishing, sports and traveling.

Eslin was an inspiration to all those who knew him. To know Eslin was to love him. Though his life had difficult times, his great ability to love found him with a family who returned the love he so generously and freely gave. He was a family man first. His wife, children and grandchildren were his inspiration. Eslin was married for 62 years to the young lady he met in church. She was 15 when they first met and he said he would marry her one day. Five years later he did. He had a sense of humor that endeared him to others, especially his family. He inspired his children to never make excuses and always be their best. He lifted others up and encouraged others to live their best life.

Eslin was a man of great integrity. His word was his truth. He had a servants heart and was always willing to help others. He never met a stranger. He was a neighbor to everyone he met and everywhere he traveled.

The life lessons he imparted by example to his children and grandchildren will live forever in their hearts . No, never forgotten. Always remembered. Until we meet again in Heaven, his love will live within our hearts and souls forever.

Although he entered his Earthly life under difficult circumstances, he was a strong, loving, kind and gentle man who remained positive and optimistic until his death. His family called him "Mr. Polly Anna" because he always remained positive and dreamed of the day he would hit the jackpot. He finally hit the jackpot on April 23, 2018 when he entered heaven. He is celebrating on the streets of gold with his Savior Jesus Christ.
