Ellis C. Drummond, age 97, of Northport, Ala., died Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at home. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Livingston Chapel Church Cemetery in Crane Hill, Ala. with Rev. Tim Tindle officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be today, June 3, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel E. Harbison Drummond; parents, James P. and Martha Drummond; and son-in-law, Ray Johnson. Survivors include his daughter, Carmen Drummond Johnson; sons, Mark Drummond (Betty) and Frank Drummond (Linda); sister, Eva D. Posey; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Ellis was a World War II veteran having served in the European Theatre. He loved God, his family and his country. Pallbearers will be Sonny Posey, Michael Hoven, David Harbison, Jason Hall, Frank Drummond and Mark Drummond. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Stephen Browne, Alabama Hospice Care of Tuscaloosa and caregivers. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Ellis's memory to Alabama Hospice Care of Tuscaloosa.
