On Thursday, October 4, 2018, Elizabeth Anne Strickland, age 69 of Northport, Alabama, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. Anne was a beloved daughter, mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Magnolia Chapel North at 11:00 am with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Burial will follow at Moore's Bridge Cemetery at noon. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Magnolia Chapel North.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Kelly Phillips, and brother, Johnny Phillips. She leaves behind her longtime love and husband of 52 years, Charles David Strickland. Anne is also survived by her mother, Betty Phillips, her brothers Kelly Phillips (Karen) and Larry Phillips, and her sister Mary Neff (Bob). Her children, Beth Kuntz (Glenn), Patricia Strickland (Little Dog), and Tony Strickland (Wendy) as well as her granddaughter, Michelle Rosenberg (J.C. Harris), her grandsons Andrew Strickland and Alex Strickland, and their mother, Susan Davidson Austin. She has one great-grandson, Jaxon Ryker Harris.
Pallbearers will include Andrew and Alex Strickland, J.C. Harris, Bob Neff, and Kyler Murillo. Honorary pallbearers are the ladies and gentlemen of Local 372 pipefitters, McAbee Construction, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW.
In 1985, with the birth of her first grandchild, Anne became known as "Nanny" and that is who she was for the rest of her life. There will never be another Nanny, a more beloved and loving person you will never meet.
