Edward A. Lary NORTHPORT Edward A. Lary, age 85, of Northport, died June 8, 2012, at Glen Haven Health & Rehabilitation. Services will be 1 p.m. today at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Jerry Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann M. Lary; parents, Mitt and Margaret Lary; and brothers, Joe, Ray, Al, and Gene. Survivors include his daughter, Terri Killian; son, Arnie Lary; brothers, James and Frank; and granddaughter, Megan Killian. A lifelong resident of Northport, he served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. Upon returning home, he graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School. He then went to the University of Alabama on a football scholarship, where he lettered in both football and baseball (1949-51). He retired from B.F. Goodrich after 40 years of service. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Butch, Jeff, Joe, and Eddie Lary, and Billy and Gary Galloway. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Brian Wilhite, Dr. Daniel Potts, Dr. Mohamed Azam, Dr. Avinash Nichani, Amedisys Home Health, Home Instead Senior Care, U of A Athletics, B.F. Goodrich, Caring Days Adult Day Care Center, and Glen Haven Health & Rehabilitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Caring Days Adult Day Care Center or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
