NORTHPORT - Edith M. Sanford, age 84, of Northport, Ala., died Saturday February 3, 2018, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at Carolwood Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Montgomery, Rev. Terrell Jones, Rev. Scott Montgomery and Rev. Roger Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, James W. Sanford; daughter, Helen Lucas (Roger); son, Dennis Sanford (Helene); brothers, Stanley Sanford (Doris) and Terry Sanford (Beth); two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She loved her family and was very family oriented. She loved to cook and quilt.
Pallbearers will be Jameson Sanford, Bryan Sanford, Brad Townsend, Jimmy Holliman, Jeff Sanford, Leonard Sanford, Mark Sanford and Derrell Pike.
Honorary pallbearers are Willard and Betty Christian.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Edith's memory to the Carolwood Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund or the Cemetery Fund.
