Dwayne B. Ray NORTHPORT Dwayne Burl Ray, age 62, of Northport, died May 20, 2013, in Northport. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. today at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South with Bro. Gary Lee officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. He was preceded in death by his parents, John O'Neal Ray and Mildred Hughes Ray. Survivors include his stepmother, Gladys M. Ray of Northport; sisters, Linda Ray Brett (John) of Carrollton, Texas and Janice Ray Wright of Duncanville; brother, Dwight O. Ray of Montgomery; stepbrothers, Charles W. West (Debbi) of Tuscaloosa and Dennis West (Cheryl) of Keller, Texas; one niece, Amy Doss Watkins (Jay), and two very dear great-nieces, Lexi Grace and Elizabeth Watkins; and longtime dear friend, Sumter B. "Buddy"� Goodwin of Montgomery. He is also survived by his faithful cat, Booger. Dwayne lived in Atlanta, Ga. for many years before returning to Northport to be near family and work with his father drawing plans for Ray's Plan Service. He was a graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School in 1969 and the University of Alabama in 1973. He attended Shelton's Chapel Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the victims of the Oklahoma tornados or to one's favorite charity.
