Dr. David Harding

Dr. David Edward Harding, 66, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, passed away on June 28, 2024, at Hospice of West Alabama. 

David was born in Lexington, Kentucky to Ann Peters and Eldred T Harding on December 19, 1957. He attended Fleming County High School, graduating in 1976. Subsequently he earned a bachelor’s degree from Transylvania University and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kentucky.

Dr. Harding completed his Family Practice Residency at The University of Alabama Community of Health Sciences. He practiced forty years and loved taking care of his patients.

Other professional duties include the Chair of Family Medicine. Additionally, Dave sat on the Board and Community Healthcare, the Medical Staff Executive, and The Board Personnel Committees. He enjoyed golf, hunting, playing cards, and UK basketball.

David is survived by his wife, Cynthia Cox Harding of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; his son David Christopher Harding (Kimberly) of Atlanta, Georgia; his son Joseph Keaton Harding (Rebecca Jane) of Mountain Brook, Alabama; his sister Debra Harding Buring (Bob) of Cincinnati, Ohio; and his grandchildren Joseph James Harding and David Henderson Harding of Mountain Brook, Alabama.

Funeral service will be held at Taylorville Methodist Church on July 2, 2024, at 2pm with Pastor Taylor Goodwin and Pastor Sarah Goodwin. Burial will follow at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South on Old Greensboro Road. Visitation will be held at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South on July 1, 2024, from 6pm to 8pm. Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home will be handling arrangements.

Pallbearers include Tanner Ashcraft, John Cox, Ware Cox, Hayden Franks, Alex Harrison, Rudy Harrison, Bryant Rogers, and Shane Spiller. 

Honorary Pallbearers include Duane and Joan Ashcraft, Ronnie and Claudia Harrison, Dr. George and Beth Kudirka, Dr. Jim and Suzie Link, Dr. Perry and Melinda Lovely, members of Taylorville Methodist Church, staff of the office of Dr. Harding, Supper Club, and Bunco Girls.

He was a loving husband, father, and doctor.
