Douglas Albert "Jake" Jacobs TUSCALOOSA - Douglas Albert "Jake" Jacobs, age 62, of Tuscaloosa, died February 9, 2017, at home. Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South with Bro. Dolan Davis and Rev. Chuck Weaver officiating and Magnolia Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Jacobs and Alice Jacobs; sister, Linda Hubbard; and brothers, Aubrey Jacobs, Ronnie Jacobs and Paul Jacobs. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Cunningham Jacobs; daughters, Cheri Jacobs (Heath) and Heather Avery Edwards; son, Ryan Jacobs (Bridgette), adopted sons: Zachary Jacobs, Jacob Jacobs and Joshua Jacobs; sister, Patricia Cork (Melvin); brothers, Norman Jacobs and Malcolm Jacobs (Judy); and grandchildren, Ryleigh Hallman, Reed Hammond, Cooper Jacobs, Jayden Hebert and Jayce Hebert. Jake was a loving, devoted and caring father. He was a people person, loved to talk and never met a stranger. He was a hard worker and worked for N.C. Morgan Construction. He was an avid Alabama fan. Pallbearers will be Rodney Cork, Eric Averette, Jonathon Mitchell, Jon Edwards, Billy Holladay and Daryle Jacobs. Honorary pallbearers are N.C. Morgan Construction, Southern Care Hospice, Dr. Debra Davis, Dolan and Vicki Davis and Bethel Baptist Church and Community. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Safe Haven Baptist Church, Southern Care Hospice or a charity of your choice .
