Dorothy Jean (Henderson) Yeager EUTAW | Dorothy Jean Henderson Yeager, age 78, of Eutaw, died August 16, 2015, at home. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2015, at Union Christian Church Cemetery with Pastor Ken Lee officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be today, August 19, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Grady Henderson and Annie Laura Henderson. Survivors include her husband, Ben Edgar Yeager of Eutaw; daughter, Denise Vaughan (Tim) of Cottondale; sons, Mike Yeager (Doris) and Gene Yeager of Akron; sisters, Sarah French (Gerson) of Moody and Mary Kooken (Mic) of Opelika; brother, George Henderson (Glenda) of Eutaw; grandchildren, Derek Yeager (Lauren) of Moundville, Michelle Wilkerson (Henry) of Moundville, Amanda Dore (Scott) of Cottondale, Benjamin Vaughan of Cottondale and Chris Lott (Shannon) of Houston, Texas; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Dorothy Yeager was born in 1937 in Eutaw, Ala. She graduated in 1956 from Greene County High School. Shortly after her graduation, she married her best friend and they spent the next 59 years side by side. She was an active member of Union Christian Church for 70 years where she served as a Sunday school teacher for nearly 50 years. Dorothy was so much to so many people. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was an amazing cook, loved her flowers and the outside. Dorothy loved her family beyond measure and loved taking care of everyone. She was the person that we all strive to be like and will be dearly missed. Pallbearers will be Derek Yeager, Benjamin Vaughan, Scott Dore, Henry Wilkerson, Jim Bambarger and Jack Herndon. Honorary pallbearers are members of Union Christian Church, friends and neighbors of Eutaw, Ala. and the staff of Alacare Home Health and Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Union Christian Church Cemetery Fund.
