Doris Miller Pate TUSCALOOSA - Doris Miller Pate, age 99, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., died July 14, 2016, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South with Pastor Bill Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Williamson Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther S. Pate, Jr; son, Luther S. Pate, III; daughters, Barbara Reeves and Jean Snider; and eight brothers and sisters. Survivors include her daughters, Juanita Foster (John) and Mary Webb (Art); son, George Pate (Janette); grandchildren, Kristie Wyatt, Tonya Westberg, Jeff Pate, Greg Foster, Amy Ratliff, Lori Pritchett, Arthur Webb, Stan Pate, Carol Pate, Melody Pate, Patty Pate, Anthony Allen and Pam Miller; and 14 great-grandchildren. Doris was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a very social person and never met a stranger. She loved gardening and could grow anything. Pallbearers will be Arthur Webb, Jr., Greg Foster, Jeff Pate, Stan Pate, Brennan Wyatt, John Ratliff, Chris Pritchett, Curtis Wallace and Anthony Allen. Honorary pallbearers are Sharon Garner, Shannon Yeager, Gina Farley, Renea Williams, Mike and Linda Cunningham, Helen Burnett, Kenneth Sealey, Marie Miller, Curtis Wallace and nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Doris's memory to the Salvation Army.
