Dophia Cook Averette MOUNDVILLE Dophia Cook Averette, age 93, of Moundville, died Jan. 31, 2013, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at New Hope Baptist Church. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Averette; her brother Bester Ward Cook; her sister, Willie Dee Ballard; and her parents, Worthy and Eula May Cook. She is survived by her daughters, JoAnne Thomas (Cecil) of Moundville and Judy Dilalrdof (Gary) of Sylva, N.C.; her son, Randy Averette (Sue) of Coker; her sister, Lola McCray; her grandchildren, Brian Thomas (Patti) of Marion, Sheryl Tubbs (Allen) of Moundville, Brett Averette (Alaca) of Tuscaloosa, and Brannon Averette (Leslie); her great-grandchildren, Amanda and Heather Tubbs, Ensleigh and Preslee Averette, and Keelan, Parker, and Preston Averette; her great-great-granddaughter, Kensley Brown; and numerous nephews and nieces. She was a loving housewife and mother who devoted her whole life to her Lord and family. She was a lifelong member of New Hope Baptist Church in the Valley community of Hale County. Pallbearers are Brian Thomas, Allen Tubbs, Bruce Dunkin, Brett Averette, Brannon Averette, and Vernon Crawford. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren and their spouses.
