Charlie Donald "Don" Rainer

Charlie Donald Rainer passed away at home on July 29, 2023, at the age of 75, in Tuscaloosa, AL.

Don was a graduate of Livingston University and an Army National Guard veteran.  He was an illustrious member of the Higher Education Financial Aid community having served many official titles in local, regional, and national financial aid organizations.  He served as the Director of Financial Aid at the University of West Alabama where he retired in 2017.

Don is survived by his wife of 26 years, Jan; his son, CJ (Emily Farr); stepdaughter, Deana Michelle Richardson; 4 grandchildren, Paxton, Colton, Easton and Mary Ella; his sister, Ellen Rainer Smith and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, George and Margaret Rainer; his siblings, George Daniel Rainer, Orland Nicky Rainer, Rodney Carl Rainer, Roy M. Rainer, and Peggy Rainer Gibson.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South, 6100 Old Greensboro Road, Tuscaloosa, AL  35405, with Don's Brother in Law, Deacon John M. Aikens, officiating.

Visitation and reception to follow at the funeral home.
