Donald Edward Farnsworth NORTHPORT | Donald Edward Farnsworth, age 84, of Northport, died September 26, 2014, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2014, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Charles Herron and Rev. Roy Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Aline Deaton Farnsworth; his parents, Edward and Lillian Farnsworth; brothers, Bill and Ray Farnsworth; and sister, Lois Friedenhofer. Survivors include his daughters, Karen Farnsworth Jacobs (Rockey) of Northport and Kim Owens (Chuck) of Old Texas, Ala.; son, Charles David Farnsworth (Jan) of Sylacauga, Ala.; sister, Jeanie Reiland; grandchildren, Shannon Bailey, Beth Gregory, Amy Weiskopk, Mary Emily Farnsworth, Helen Farnsworth, Miller Owens, Deaton Owens, Sarah Elizabeth Owens, Stella Gregory, Austin, Lillie Kate, Railyn, and Hayes Bailey. Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He served his country in The United States Air Force for 20 years and retired as a major. He worked 20 years as a pilot for The University of Alabama. He was a Mason and former President of the Tuscaloosa Shrine Club. He never met a stranger and one his greatest passions was dancing and loving the Lord. Pallbearers will be Miller Owens, Deaton Owens, Ken Deaton, Samuel Deaton, Kevin Herron, Keith Herron, and Byron Bailey. Honorary pallbearers are loving caregivers, Tracy Brooks, Ida Allen, Roy Allen, Brenda Voss, Jackie Easterwood, Hattie Abrams, Lakesha Prewitt, Mary Gilbert, Shakeithia Brown, Connie Henderson, many special family friends and Mary Falls and Clint Youngblood. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to a charity of one's choice
