Dewey Lee Walker Sr. TUSCALOOSA - Dewey Lee Walker, Sr., age 84, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., died February 22, 2017, at his residence. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Skyland Boulevard Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Garner and Rev. Jon Wiggins officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2017, in Campground Methodist Church Cemetery in Muscadine, Ala. with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Lovella Walker. Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Mary Walker; daughter, Demitra Snellgrove (Charles); son, Lee Walker (Brenda); daughter, Cammie Flowers (Peter); brother, Marshall Walker (Carol); grandchildren, Brian Snellgrove, Matthew Walker, Chase Brown, Jacob Brown (Alyssa), Brook Quarles (Daniel), Dalton Brown, Ian Flowers and Genna Castillo (Tyler); sisters-in-law, Lois Stephens and Twilla Cummings; brothers-in-law, Jack Turner (Jane) and Ronnie Roberts (Patricia); uncle, B. J. Walker (Bernice); and cousins, Buddy Biggers, Shelby Camp, Faynell Dewberry (Joe) and Jr. Biggers (Nellie). Dewey attended Gadsden Jr. College. Then he was drafted in to the United States Army serving during the Korean War and served fifteen years in the Army National Guard earning the rank of Sergeant. He then worked in the printing industry for 36 ½ years. He was a charter member of Skyland Boulevard Baptist Church. He is now walking the golden streets of Heaven. Pallbearers will be Lee Walker, Jim Bradford and grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Montgomery, Allison Pate, Annette and Jim Bradford, members of Skyland Boulevard Baptist Church, Drs. Tucker and Hinton and staff of the Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center, Dr. Douglas Reynolds and staff, Dr. Lopez and staff and Hospice of West Alabama. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to Hospice of West Alabama, Skyland Boulevard Baptist Church or Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center.
