Dempsey Kelly

Dempsey Joe Kelly, age 78, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., died December 27, 2017, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Big Sandy Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Lolley officiating. Burial will follow in Big Sandy Community Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Etta Kelly and siblings, Troy Kelly, Vester Kelly, Jessie Kelly, Mamie Jones, Jeanette McDaniel, Grady Kelly and Stella Parker. Survivors include his wife, Lynda Davis Kelly; daughter, Carmen Kelly; son, Tommy Kelly; and sisters, Dean Cloudus of Northport and Geneva Pate of Newberry, Fla.; sister-in-law, Dot Kelly of Hamilton; brother-in-law, Robert Jones of Buhl; and a host of nieces and nephews. Dempsey was born and raised in Buhl, Ala. He was a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 372. He attended Big Sandy Baptist Church and enjoyed "helping"� people by using his skills of carpentry and welding. Pallbearers will be Aubrey Boothe, Cheston Cloudus, Marvin Gregory, David Hartley, Don Kelly and Ron Lett. Honorary pallbearers are friends of the Big Sandy community, Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 372, Big Sandy Baptist Church Adult Mens Class.
