David Lee Schoonhoven Tuscaloosa / David Lee Schoonhoven opened his eyes to Glory on Monday, June 27, 2016 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Services will be 6pm Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Pastor Donald Payne from Forest Lake Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6pm prior to services at the funeral home. Born in 1953 in Freeport, Ill. he was a graduate of Moody Bible Institute, Judson University and Azusa Pacific University. David will be remembered for his self-deprecating humor, his "pun" - ishment and "Rah" jokes, his perseverance through hardships, his love for Jesus and his ability to brighten even the darkest days. David is survived by his wife Cristy, children Daniel and Norma; dad, Emmerson Schoonhoven (Marie); his many friends in Tuscaloosa and Chattanooga, Tenn. and family in the Philippines. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to Forest Lake Baptist Missions Fund.
