David Ray Cannon, age 53, of Northport died September 5, 2018 at Hospice of West Alabama. Visitation will be tonight, September 8, 2018 at 6 o'clock in the afternoon at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North. Funeral services will be the following day, Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 3 o'clock in the afternoon at Campground United Methodist Church. His body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. Reverend Paul Wilson and Bennett Limbaugh will be officiating with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing; the burial will follow in the church cemetery. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Cannon, his grandparents Roy and Vera Nell Cannon Cabiness. Survivors include his daughter Danielle Caroline Cannon of Northport and his fiancé Dalton Lambert of Northport; his mother, Ruth Miles Cannon of Northport; stepchildren, Courtney Fulmer (Mike) of Florida, Steven Fulmer (Lillian) of Tuscaloosa, Lisa Hubbard (Eric) of Tuscaloosa and Justin Wesley (Jessica) of Pensacola; step-grand children, Nevaeh Fulmer, Cassie Letourneau, Ashton Morris, John Weston, Colton and Henry Hubbard. David loved and cherished his time reading the Bible, watching Alabama football, and loving on his children and grandchildren. He also loved being a mentor, especially when it came to teaching about mechanics, just like his dad. Honorary Pallbearers include all of his friends and family that helped make his journey on Earth a memorable one. We also want to include the doctors and nurses for taking care of him these past three years. Most importantly we want to include the staff at Hospice of West Alabama and especially Sandy, his nurse that took care of him in his final moments on Earth with us. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama in his honor and for others battling against cancer.
