Dr. David Clyde Call, born October 29, 1968, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at home with his family after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
David lived in Tuscaloosa with his beloved wife, Nicole Call, who devoted herself to supporting and caring for him throughout his illness. He is survived by Nicole, his four children—Morgan, Maddox, Luke, and Adam—and his stepchildren, Reece and Ella Kathryn Hindman. He also leaves behind his father, Daniel W. Call; his mother, Bonnie H. Stoicovy; and his five siblings: Carole Thomson, Karen McArthur, Daniel Call, Bonnie McCusker, and Jennifer D’Amico.
After earning his undergraduate degree from Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA, David obtained his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He served honorably in the Air Force and the Air Force Reserve, exemplifying his commitment to service.
David dedicated over two decades to the field of medicine, earning a reputation as a compassionate and brilliant physician. His patients cherished not only his medical expertise but also his kindness, attentive listening, and personal care. Colleagues and staff admired him as both a mentor and a friend.
Deeply faithful, David loved the Lord with all his heart. He spent much of his last days listening to sermons and praise and worship music. Fearless in sharing the Gospel, he was secure in his faith and wished for everyone he knew to share that same assurance.
Beyond his medical career, David cherished his family and his role as husband and father were his top priorities. He also discovered a passion for painting, creating beautiful works of art during his illness, leaving behind many treasured pieces that reflect his spirit and creativity.
David's infectious smile, laughter, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him, leaving a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and colleagues.
