David Rodney "Rod" Bigham was born and raised in the Samantha community. He graduated from Northside High School, then went on to work as a police officer for the City of Tuscaloosa until his retirement. Rod was an active member of New Beginning Family Worship Center and the Kelly Small group, where he served on the Safety Team. He enjoyed the outdoors, horses, cattle, hunting and motorcycles. His humor and gracious heart are permanently embedded in those he selflessly loved and served. His faith in Jesus Christ allowed him to rejoice in this side of eternity.
"Jesus said, Don't be troubled. Trust in God, and trust in me. There are many rooms in my Father's house. I would not tell you this if it were not true. I am going there to prepare a place for you. After I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back. Then I will take you with me, so that you can be where I am."
