Danny Wayne Shelby NORTHPORT | Danny Wayne Shelby, age 56, of Northport, died November 19, 2014, at Cahaba 5 Facility in Brent. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. George Jackson and Pastor Frances Prickett officiating. Burial will follow in Haygood Methodist Church Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his father, Dan G. Shelby; and grandparents, Lillian and Vester Sanford and Nancy Winters. Survivors include his mother, Gladys Shelby Chandler; sisters, Helen Simpson (Donald), Judy Swindle (Bobby) and Mary Crowe (Danny); and brother, Paul Shelby. Danny was born as one of God's special children. Although he faced many challenges in his life, he is now experiencing many joys that he could never imagine doing here on earth. We will always have Danny in our hearts and it gives us great peace knowing he is with God and MoMo Lily. Danny will wear his new wings proudly. Pallbearers will be nephews, Patrick Simpson, Jason Falls, Jeremy Swindle, Daniel Shelby, Nicholas Shaw and Robert Tanner. A very special thanks for the wonderful care given to Danny by Martha Wallace and the staff at Cahaba 5 Facilities and Amedisys Hospice Care.
