Daniel Gordon Frost, age 80, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., passed away October 20, 2018 at Lloyd Noland Hospital in Tuscaloosa. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Magnolia Chapel South with Rev. Jeremy Burrage officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service.
Mr. Frost was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Leon Frost; mother, Hattie Odell Frost; nephew, Larry Eads; and brother-in-law, Jerry Wayne Cagle.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Mae H. Frost; step-daughter, Susan Diane Hoggle; stepson, Samuel Andrew Hoggle, Jr.; sisters, Lola Koehler (Roger) and Lanette Cagle; nieces and nephews, Celeste Cagle, Russell Cagle (Candy), Barry Eads, Emily Cagle and Sidney Cartwright.
Gordon was an avid fan of Alabama Football and professional wrestling. He was a member of the Army National Guard serving our country for over 25 years from the Holt facility.
He worked as a barber for many years at the Alberta Barbershop before having to retire due to his loss of vision. Several years later he volunteered at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center before being hired to work the switchboard. Gordon never went anywhere without meeting someone he knew and always had a joke to share. He was loved and will be missed.
Pallbearers will be Russell Cagle, Barry Eads, David Miller, John Mills, Shane Mills, Porfirio Solorzano and Donald Terry.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Leonard Jones, Dr. Jean Lipscomb, Dr. Syed S. Aslam, nurses TSICU DCH Regional Medical Center and Lloyd Noland Hospital-Tuscaloosa and Capstone Church.
