Dacre Martin

Dacre Earl Martin, age 90, of Aliceville, died Nov. 1, 2011, at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Family Worship Center with Bro. Kevin Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery in Pickens County with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be Friday from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at the church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Martin; his daughter, Annie Ruth Shaw; his sons, Dacre Earl Martin, Jr. and Charles Martin; his parents; and two brothers. Survivors include his daughters, Virginia Braddock (Ricky Wilson) of Ethelsville, Linda Winters of Grenada, Miss., and Lane Martin Wilson (Joe); his sons, David Martin (Marion) of Reform and Larry Gene Martin of Indianapolis, Ind.; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. He was a retired employee of the City of Aliceville and an avid fisherman. He knew the Lord as his personal savior and loved to tell others about Jesus. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Martin, Jason Martin, Bruce Shaw, Brad Braddock, Larry Braddock, and Benji Kelley. Honorary pallbearers are Howard Edwards, Jack Lang, Mike Lang, Lamar Reed, and Earl Reed.
