Cindy Cynthia "Cindy" Williams Colgrove was born February 20, 1960 to parents Clyde and Lillian Williams of Oxford, AL. She was cherished and loved by her three older siblings from the moment she was born and was forever their "baby." Cindy loved her family and had a special bond with each of her siblings and their children who described her as the "Fun Aunt." As a teenager Cindy drove too fast in her bright orange Volkswagen Bug and participated in the color guard at Oxford High School where she graduated in 1978.
Cindy became a mother in 1982 to her first son, Chris, of whom she was so proud. She married Reid Colgrove Sr. March 17, 1988 after a whirlwind love story. The two began a family quickly by welcoming a daughter Julia and two sons Weston and Reid Jr., who were all the joy of her life. They recall Cindy as being an involved mother who loved sharing experiences with them. As Cindy would have it, her family of 6 of went everywhere together and shared a home cooked sit-down dinner every night.
While Cindy loved her title as "mom" she would tell you becoming a "CiCi" to her six grandchildren was her most treasured title. Being their "CiCi" meant everything to her as she fought to overcome sickness to be as present as possible in their lives. She enjoyed and looked forward to every opportunity to join with her family for games or movie night, re-telling hilarious stories of raising her children, or simply sitting on the couch next to her children and grands.
Cindy was talented with the ability to bring beauty to anything she touched. From professionally decorating events and food presentations to hand making her children's Halloween costumes and holiday decorating, Cindy created beautiful experiences her family was proud of. She made life beautiful in many ways for her family and those who loved her with her love for fun, embellished stories, and infectious laugh. Cindy grew in faith as she attended Taylorville Baptist Church and found comfort in spending time in prayer with her husband. While Cindy will be deeply missed by her family and friends, those who love her take comfort in knowing she is in the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ, abiding in His everlasting love.
Pallbearers will be Chris Myers, Weston Colgrove, Reid Colgrove Jr., Clark King, Josh King, Houston Gentry, and Nathan Waters.
