Corinne S. "Cory" Johnston MOUNDVILLE - Corinne "Cory" S. Johnston, age 84, died February 11, 2017 at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Moundville Baptist Church with Dr. Jason Duckett officiating. Entombment will follow at Magnolia South Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 14, 2017 one hour prior to the service at the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cora and Henry Switzer; husband, William E. Johnston Jr.; brother, Melvin Switzer; and sister, Janice Ann Hulsey. Survivors include her daughter, Wanda Kemp Curtis (Robin) of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; son, Larry Wayne Johnston (Jennie) of Moundville, Ala.; sister, Sara Stevens of Miss.; sister-in-law's, Mary Ellen Pipes, Carolyn Parker and Nellie McKeithen, all of Louisiana; brother, Paul Switzer (Jeannie) of Miss.; special friend, George Massey of Moundville, Ala.; grandchildren, Jacob Cory Johnston (Ginger) of Tuscaloosa, Ala; and great-grandchildren, Hunter, Hayden and Hailey Johnston of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Cory was a retired nurse at DCH Emergency Department. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend to many and was a longtime member of Moundville Baptist Church. She will be missed by her loving furbaby, Muffie. Pallbearers will be the Sunday School Class of Raymond Fields. Honorary pallbearers are the Sunday School Class of Thelma Elliott; Dr. Ross Vaughn and doctors and nurses at Hospice of West Alabama.
