Clarence Wheelus

Randy Wheelus, age 54, of Northport, died Nov. 17, 2011, at UAB Hospital. Services will be 7 p.m. today at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Carroll Jones officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Clarence Wheelus; daughter, Christina Jane Wheelus; and son, John David Clarence Wheelus. Survivors include his wife, Lydia Wheelus; daughter, Nikki Wheelus (Michael Cannon); sons, Joey and Xander Wheelus; sisters, Cathy Elmore (Terry) and Rita Price (Templen); mother, Betty Wheelus; and numerous other family members. Randy was born at DCH and grew up in Alabama. He attended Tennessee Temple in Chattanooga, where he met his wife, Lydia. Randy was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. His wit and sense of humor were one of a kind and will truly be missed. Honorary pallbearers are friends, family, and the numerous compassionate doctors, nurses, and caregivers who have taken care of him throughout his life.
