Clarence "Pete" Hendrix NORTHPORT Clarence "Pete"� Hendrix, age 83, of Northport, died Feb. 1, 2013, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Magnolia Chapel North with Rev. Jerry Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Bone Camp Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Herring Hendrix, and his parents, John Emerson and Eula Naughter Hendrix. Survivors include his daughter, Johnnie H. Driggers (Anthony); son, Linwood Hendrix; sister, Nancy H. Barze; special friend and companion, Jewell Rowe; grandsons, Lin Hendrix (Faith), Matthew Driggers, Benjamin Driggers, Mitchell Osborne (Sandi); great grandson, Mac Hendrix; stepdaughter, Gloria W. Osborne (Mitchell); daughter-in-law, Rita M. Hendrix; and nieces, Suzanne Jones, Beverly Barze, and Stacy Hallman. Mr. Pete, as he was best known, was a farmer, and raised cotton and cattle. He owned and operated Hendrix's Grocery, and developed many friendships. He enjoyed yard work, and added such beauty with the flowers he grew. Our dad, brother, Papa, and Big Pa was a great guy, and will be missed by all that knew him. Pallbearers will be Linwood Hendrix, Lin Hendrix, Mac Hendrix, Anthony Driggers, Matthew Driggers, Benjamin Driggers, Mitchell Osborne Sr., and Mitchell Osborne Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Mr. and Mrs. Harold Appling, Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Bell, John Mitchell, Hospice of West Alabama, DCH Home Health Care, family, friends, and neighbors of Hendrix Farm, Hendrix Grocery, Chapel Hill Baptist Church, and many other friends from the past 83 years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bone Camp Cemetery Fund, Chapel Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, or Hospice of West Alabama.
