Christine "Chris" Wright Hamner

Christine (Chris) Wright Hamner went home to rest in the arms of her Heavenly Father February 27, 2023. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Magnolia Chapel South. Funeral Services will be held at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in McKenzie, Alabama, Friday, March 3, 2023 at 11:00 am with Elder Rex Tolbert officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the church. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in McKenzie, Alabama.

She is preceded in death by her father, Calvin W. Wright; mother, Glenda Rose (Bennett); brother; Fred Wright; and brother-in-law, John Arnold McCullough.

Chris is survived by a family who loved and admired her; the love of her life , Billy Snyder; son, Robby Tucker (Michelle); sisters, Rosanne McCullough (John Arnold), Gail Bridges (John), and Carol Skelton (Mike); grandchildren, Taylor Tucker, Beau Beech, Avery Watson, and Caden Watson; a host of nieces and nephews.

Chris lived and worked in the Tuscaloosa area for the past 55 years, accumulating a host of family and friends. She will best be remembered as one who pulled people into her circle and always thought "the more the merrier". She used her talents to plan and implement fundraisers for PTA's, sports associations, Special Olympics and so many others. Chris loved to socialize and was a natural born event/party planner who took every opportunity to gather family and friends together. She planned and directed weddings and hosted wedding and baby showers, as well as other events, receiving so much joy from making others happy. Her personality was bigger than life, and she will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Pallbearers are John McCullough, Brian McCullough, Jordan Abbett, Josh Abbett, Carson Cates, Will McCullough, Justin Snyder, and Eric Beech. Honorary pallbearers are Beau Wicks and employees of Southeast Logistics and members of the Elks Lodge #393. Special thanks to UAB Oncology, Northport DCH Medical Surgery Unit, and Hospice of West Alabama.
