Christine W. Howell, age 85, of Northport passed away on July 2, 2017 at her home. She was born on January 21, 1932, at Speeds Mill, Pickens County, AL. She was the youngest of nine children. Services will be at 3:00pm, Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Alberta Baptist Church with Bro. Keith Pugh officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church. Magnolia Chapel North is directing. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Paul B. Howell, father, Howard W. Windle; mother, Mary Noland Windle; brothers, Hoyt, Harvel, Hubert and Leon Windle; sisters, Lucile Maughan, Vivian Windle, Sara Reynolds, and Emma Jean Windle; nephews, Jerry Maughan, Robert Windle and Terry Windle; and a god child, Chris Hainsey. Survivors include her son Wendell Howell (Lynne); grandchildren, Lauren Sellers (Josh), Del Howell (Hailey), Audrey Howell and Haleigh Howell; great grandchildren, Gabriel Lee Sellers, Sarah Hope Sellers, Hannah Christine Sellers and Mia Cates Howell and numerous nieces and nephews. She lived a life full of love for her family and others and loved to share what God had blessed her with. "MaMa" got the most joy out of giving to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family and all who knew her will always remember her smile and generous heart. She is now with the Lord and Savior whom she loved and served faithfully. She is also reunited with Paul, her companion and love of her life for 43 years. While we will greatly miss her on earth, we find comfort in knowing we will see her again in Heaven. Pallbearers will be Jim Adams, Grady Friday, A.D. Guy, Arnold Mills, Buddy Watkins and Harolyn Whitaker. Honorary pallbearers will be "God-sent" caregiver Gay Barton, past and present employees of Howell Lumber Co. and Home Run Transport, Dr. Leonard Jones, Dr. William Hill, past co -workers of First National Bank, friends of Alberta Baptist Church and Rose Blvd. Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa County High class of 1950, Brian and Claire Kindred, Bro. Jerry and Barbara Skinner, Mary Nell Hallman, Bonnie Tidwell and her wonderful caregivers at Hospice of West Alabama. Flowers or donations made to Hospice of West Alabama or The Gideons would be equally appreciated.
