Christine Haywood Freeman MOUNDVILLE Christine Haywood Freeman, age 93, of Moundville, died May 7, 2010, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Moundville Methodist Church with Rev. Reba Wiley officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Moundville with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Homer Freeman; her son, David Homer, Jr.; her parents, Susie and Omer Haywood, Sr.; her sisters, Cora Lee H. Smith and Elzada H. Martin; and her brother, Frank Haywood. Survivors include her daughters, Shirley Payne Fitts (James), Marjolena Payne, Barbara Kelley (Rufus, Jr.), and Alice Brown; her son, David Clarence Freeman (Cathy); her sisters, Dixie McGiboney and Ruth Harris (Johnny); her brother, O.G. Haywood (Imogene); 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Larry Skelton and staff, Golden Years and staff and Director Pat James, Ludie Elliott Sunday School Class, Moundville Methodist Church Choir, Moundville Methodist Church members, and friends and neighbors of the Moundville community. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Moundville Methodist Church Life Center, P.O. Box 35, Moundville, AL 35474.
