C. "Raiford" Hicks NORTHPORT C. "Raiford Hicks, age 76, of Northport, died September 9, 2013, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. David Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his son, Barry Allen Hicks; parents, C.W. and Trannie Mae Williamson Hicks; and beloved cousin, Dora Patterson. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Davidson Hicks of Northport; daughters, Denise Kizziah (Zane) and Ranette Robertson (Dean); son, Billy Ray Hicks (Polly); grandchildren, Jennifer Dunkling (Josh), Alanna Kennedy (Matt Smith), Ross Kizziah, Rebekah Cronan (Hunter), Laura Frye (Ken), and Christopher Graham (Chelsy); stepchildren, Kelli, Tyler, and Kari Tarabochia; and eight great-grandchildren. He served his country for nine years in the Army National Guard. He was a very successful salesman. He knew Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He served as a deacon at Unity Baptist Church and Chapel Hill Baptist Church. He worked the Royal Ambassador programs, he sang in the choir, and he taught Sunday school. He loved to hunt, fish, and work in his garden. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather (Paw Paw), and son. Now he is with Jesus and his loved ones. Pallbearers will be James Davidson, Mike Davidson, Paul Davidson, Christopher Hicks, Ross Kizziah, Josh Dunkling, Ken Frye, Matt Smith, Hunter Cronan, Tony Terry, Eddie Fulmer, and Mark Davidson. Honorary pallbearers are Chapel Hill Baptist Church, Loy Lunceford's Sunday school class, friends and neighbors of Tom Montgomery Rd. and Chapel Hill Community, Chapel Hill Deacons, Ralph Wallace, Billy Chism, Freddy Yerby, Dr. Regina Harrell, and Caring Hospice - Geli Russell.
