Charlie Worth Hall NORTHPORT Charlie Worth Hall, age 91, of Northport, formerly of Gordo, passed away peacefully Friday, July 12, 2013. Services will be 3 p.m. today, July 14, 2013, at Arbor Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Ted Sessoms officiating. Burial will follow in Hargrove Methodist Church Cemetery in Gordo with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North Directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Charlie was preceded in death by his loving wife, Edith Mae; an infant son; brother, Wesley; and sisters, Olene and Lorene. Survivors include his son, Kenneth Hall (Cathy); daughter, Cherri Hall Thomas (Darren); brother, J.C. Hall; sister, Ozelle Sanders; grandchildren, Michele Hall, Meghan Hall, Madison Thomas, Taylor Thomas; and great-granddaughter, Sofia. He was born in Gordo, Ala., on November 5, 1921, to Olen B. Hall and Gertrude Montgomery Hall. Charlie served in the Army in WWII, Private First Class, 743rd Field Artillery Battalion. He later retired after 32 years of service from Hardin's Bakery in Tuscaloosa. Charlie was a very loving man. He treasured his time spent with family, especially, his grandchildren and great-grandchild. He also enjoyed great times with his Church Family at Arbor Springs. Charlie was an avid gardener, and loved spending time outdoors. Pallbearers will be Dexter Beams, Steve Bryant, Tom Bullard, Phillip Hall, Bill Henderson, Jerry Jarrell, Mitchell Sanders and Johnny Bert Thomas. The Family would like to send a special thanks to Johnny Bert and Jean Thomas, J. C. and Coleen Hall, Felicia Gilliam, Johnnie Humphrey, Perry and Donna Jarrell, Dr. Nichani and the staff of the VA Hospital Primary Home Care, and the Community of Lakeview Manor.
