Charles C. White, Sr. NORTHPORT/ Charles C. White, Sr. age 85 of Northport died August 21, 2016 at Northport Medical Center. A graveside service will be held Friday August 26, 2016 at Bethel Presbyterian cemetery at 11:00am with Rev. Alan Roggli officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home in charge of cremation arrangements. He is preceded in death by his son James William White. Survivors include his wife of 63 years Betty White; sons Charles C. White, Jr. (Susan) ; his pet dog Charlie II and his grandchildren; Charles Adam White and Lauren Macy White. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Grant Strong at the VA Medical Center, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Johnson, Mrs. Gail Taylor, Mrs. Betty Ward and families and Mr. Johnny Jordon. Charles was a Korean War vet, decorated airborne combat vet and served proudly with the 187th airborne infantry RCT US Army Co I 3rd Battalion (Rakasans) and was wounded Novemeber 3, 1950, Jueto enemy action at Pyongyans North Korea and was awarded The Purple Heart and also Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Badge, Parachute Badge with One Battle Star, Korean Service Metal with Two Battle Stars and One Bronze Star, United Nations South Korea Service Medal, Army, Navy and south Korea Presidential Unit Citations, National Defense Service Medal, and numerous other awards. Charlie loved to say "True love is a many splendid thing and a man cannot live without love."
