Charles Ted Deavours NORTHPORT Charles Ted Deavours, age 81, of Northport, died Jan. 30, 2013, at Northport Medical Center-DCH. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Cleveland Church of Christ Cemetery in Bankston with Doug Key officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cheyenne Deavours, and his parents, Charles Spurgeon and Carrie Sawyer Deavours. Survivors include his daughters, Dianne D. Welch and Allison D. Sweigard; his sons, Jeff Deavours, Scott Deavours (Tanya), James Harkins (Ashley), and Myrk Harkins (Jennifer); his sisters, Norma Nabors (Fred), Wanda Barnes (Jimmy), and Bonita Taylor; his brother, George Deavours; 22 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; special friends, John and Neva Newman and Jackie and Doug Key; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and friends. Honorary pallbearers are University Church of Christ members, coworkers at Alagasco, Northport Lions Club, and the Berry High School Class of 1949. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Northport Lions Club and DCH Cancer Center.
