Charles L. Savage NORTHPORT | Charles L. Savage, age 84, of Northport, went to be with Jesus, March 12, 2014. His celebration of life service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Carrolls Creek Baptist Church with Alan Roggli and Larry Corder officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the church. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Marie; daughters, Brenda Corder (Larry) and Donna Kitchen; grandchildren, Lance Corder (Laura), Kim Roberts (Chris), Lauren Sineath (Kyle); and great-grandchildren, Kaylin and Davis Corder. Charles was born June 26, 1929 in Gordo, Alabama. He married his childhood sweetheart July 24, 1946. They both graduated from Holt High School in 1948. Charles retired from B.F. Goodrich. He was a deacon at Carrolls Creek. He had a servant's heart and never said no to anyone. He loved water skiing, bluegrass gospel music, playing the fiddle and Alabama football. Pallbearers will be Lance Corder, Chris Roberts, Phil Savage, Del Hartley, Ricky Mallett, Jerry Rogers, Mike Hogue and John Powell. Honorary pallbearers are Kings Men Sunday School class, members of Carrolls Creek and Alberta Baptist Church, and Carrolls Creek Blue Grass Band. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Alberta Baptist Church.
