Charles Horton

Charles "David"� Horton COKER - Charles "David" Horton, age 77, of Coker, died April 6, 2017, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2017, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Bro., Charles Herron officiating. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery in Emelle, Alabama, with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation is one hour prior to services at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Roy Horton and Mary Louise Cobb Horton, numerous cousins and extended family. Survivor is his guardian, Bob Reeves. David was a member of Sounds of Joy. He participated in the Special Olympics and was an avid bowler. David worked with Paulk for 21 years and the ARC of Tuscaloosa. Pallbearers will be Danny Pate, Darryl Cobb, Gavin Smothers, Daniel Smothers, Dale Pate, Jeff Rominger and Eric Clark. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Ellis, PARA Therapeutic Recreation, Hospice of West Alabama, Keith Adcox and family and Keith Jenkins. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Eagles Wings, 12379 Eagles Wings Drive, Coker, AL 35452.
